On Tuesday the 11th we met some friends after work to take a trip on the tourist attraction Paddan in Gothenburg. Having lived in Gothenburg for several years, we’ve never got around to take a tour on the sightseeing boat, which takes you around the old moat and into the river “Göta älv”. We learned a lot about the history of Gothenburg and had a beautiful hour on the boat. For example, the ship Viking can never leave Gothenburg as the mast is 10 meters to high to fit under the Älvsborgsbron, which is the final obstacle before reaching the sea. The first hospital built in Gothenburg is a round building, because people back then thought illness got stuck in corners. Unfortunately, the money ran out during the construction, which resulted in a horse shoe shaped building instead… It is now called Pedagogen and is part of the Gothenburg University.
