Epping Forest walk

The April walk with the Country Walks and Pub Explorer Society went to Epping Forest, which is actually in the north east suburbs of London so it was nice and close for us. We took the train to Chingford station where we began the walk by looking at Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge, built on Henry VIII’s orders in 1543. The walk then took as past ponds and through fields and woodlands before ending up in the Toby Carvery pub in Snaresbrook, where we all got some well deserved Sunday roost before taking the tube home.

All in all a nice walk, and as it is really close to where we live we will definitely go back to Epping Forest!
